"Our story begins with my great-grandmother Helen. As a native Vermonter raised during the Great Depression, hard times forced her to learn to cook and bake with what she had; she always crafted incredible meals from what the garden supplied and what could be found in the root cellar.
While Helen passed away in 2020, her legacy lives on. She taught my mother to bake, and my mother taught me. Baking quickly became one of my favorite pastimes and I am always testing out new recipes.
When cannabis became legal in Vermont, this opened up a whole new side of baking for me. It began with a question from a friend, "Martha you've made candy before, can you help me make cannabis-infused candies?" Intrigued, my mom and I embarked on a journey to better understand edibles and the benefits of cannabis. As a joke, I bought her two edibles cookbooks— when life presents you with a book titled "Bong Appetit" it’s impossible not to buy it! But what began as a joke has turned into so much more; these books opened our eyes to a whole world of edibles we had never thought about. We set out trying to make high quality, delicious edibles that went beyond your classic pot brownie, and out of this Fog Valley Farm was born! We want customers to enjoy a treat that could have come straight from Helen's kitchen, but with a twist on the other side."
